Crucible ignored Jerry. “Thanks. 94, so just barely.”

And I killed a warlock, and a whatever Diao was. I’m no pansy.

No, just lucky. But I’m not trying to prove I told you so, so I’ll leave it.

Great. “Zusni, it’s this way now,” he said, and pointed her to the angle left of her position.

She nodded and swung her pick hard into the gray and black splotched stone. The power she packed into her swings almost caught up to the efficiency he enjoyed with his enchanted pick. Since he had a few to make with his crafting table, he let her have a go. They’d broken three since starting this tunnel, so their inventory could handle it now. He jogged back to the table to start crafting.

Counting the buildings he’d translated, he confirmed the ten:

Marketplace, Blacksmith, Siege Works, Fishing Hatchery, Archery Range, Stable, Barracks, Laboratory, and Greenhouse.

What about the Library?

He was crafting the third pickaxe when a head emerged around the corner between their tunnel and the DemoMite graveyard. A blasted skeletor!

It gasped its blowtorch igniting cry, then pulled back on its bow as it strafed far enough from the wall to clear its shot.

“Skeletors!” His 5-D vision transformed immediately, but he wanted to launch a Fire 1 for its speed and efficiency on his MP.

He handshot it, dropping the pickaxe that had formed from the crafting, and started right. His ankle wrapping and new Strength made the pain minimal, but he still wasn’t the fastest. The arrow hit him in the chest a split second before his fireball cracked the bow and struck the skeletor center mass. -11 HP floated off from the arrow attack. 44 left.

With the skeletor’s weapon broken, Crucible charged to get within the ten-foot optimal accuracy range. The skeletor hopped, spun and started turning away to hide beyond the wall. Crucible launched Fire 1 at its head. The blast smacked open a fat hole in its wispy hair matted skull. Yellow dust puffed out from the explosion.

Lethal hit!

+20 XP to Wizard class.
